CAFE MENUS
ABOUT OUR INGREDIENTS
We are dedicated to providing truly pure healthful and vibrant food. Requiring not only a sound approach procedurally to buying, storing, & handling, but an intuitive approach moment by moment to the daily use of our whole foods in recipes and on the plate. As we constantly ask the question:
'Is it fresh, pure, nourishing? Are we happy with this? Will the customer love this?'
Our goal is to be the place for those who seek the highest form of simple or gourmet nourishment and we invite individuals with all types of food sensitivities to dine at Organic Garden or purchase its products over the web.
Our staff is knowledgeable about our cuisine and carry ingredient lists to assist those with food allergies in making their choices. We use no peanut or peanut oil of any kind, no animal products whatsoever. We use no artificial ingredients or processed foods. Our recipes include many nut-free choices; including a nut-free version of our fabulous burger. Our equipment is washed between recipes to avoid trace ingredients from previous recipes. We use no MSG or Soy TVP.
We do not use Soy Milk or Tofu because they are not a living food but are processed and they simply do not fit into our concept. We do offer South River Farms un-pasteurized Miso Soup because of its highly touted heath benefits long spoken off in Japanese and Macrobiotic Cooking. We may offer some Macrobiotic choices in the future. While we mainly promote raw foods for the many benefits spoken off in other areas of this website, and strongly believe the majority of our dietary intake should include enzyme-rich cuisine, we also embrace other forms of healthful cooking, knowing that there is a valid role for these, depending on the individual condition, body type, the season and other factors.
Our recipes are wheat-free and gluten free. We use wheat -free tamari.
Our
Wraps are made with cooked wheat while their fillings are
made only from 100% living or raw food ingredients. Someone
who desires a wrap but to stay raw may order a wrap in a
nori sheet, lettuce or cabbage leaf.
We are 100% raw except for wraps or spring roll wrapping paper, hot soups and hot drinks. The decision to use these items is to increase our accessibility to people from all walks of life. Many of our customers progress from wraps in the beginning and then go to other totally raw choices.
WE ARE OVER 90% ORGANIC
We purchase produce from NE Organics of Chelsea and Albert's Organics, suppliers of 3 rd Party Certified Organically Grown food. In the summer, we use local organic produce as available. Most of our bulk foods come from United Natural Foods and Associated Buyer of Barrington, NH.
When something is unavailable, we may alter a recipe by creatively substituting other organic foods we do have. This is ultimately because we care about you (the customer), the organic farmers & the planet.
We will never use a non-organic soft fruit for a smoothie or recipe and will go without tomatoes, cucumber, apple, strawberries, orange, etc. We normally use non-organic pineapple, as we have not been able to find a source of sweet organic pineapple. We only use organic lettuce.
Some of nuts are often not organic (pine nut, pecan). Our cashew is rainforest but not always certified organic. Occasionally our almonds and walnuts are not certified organic. Some of our spices are not available organic but are high quality FRONTIER non-irradiated spices, a well-respected brand in Whole Foods Markets. We are however always looking to obtain certified organic nuts and spices at more competitive prices to eventually achieve 100% organic status.
When you eat here it is like you are giving to a worthy environmental organization like Greenpeace. While you satisfy your taste buds, consider this obligation to give to a good cause also satisfied. Your dollars here make a difference!
Thanks to you we have spent over $600,000 dollars supporting Organic Farmers!
